bio

bill bortenberry is a professional writer with nearly 40 years’ experience. a former journalist and current public relations professional, he spent the first half of his career as a reporter, editor and columnist for a daily newspaper. since 2001, he has worked in the public relations department of a health system.

outside of work, he has written for Good News Magazine and posts occasionally to his blog, a collection of musings about faith, family and ancestry with almost 70,000 views.

bill discovered the story that has become Lint Head in a hair salon much like Lords and Ladies. He paid his way through college cutting and styling hair there 40 years ago. That’s where he met his wife of 28 years, Lisa. They are the parents of two adult children, Ethan, a musician and songwriter, and Autumn, an elementary school teacher.

Bill has written a second, Christmas-themed novel.
